How to be able to recognized and change old patterns ?

We all feel stuck in the repetition of events or situations even that we have promised our selves we will never go through again,
the repetition of habits or patterns is common in the human being,
not so much in animals that usually and instantly learn from the error
or painful experiences.
The human brain follows safety patterns of what we know and
why feels comfortable doing what we do, it's called " comfort zone ",
 and not because the result is always comfortable,
but because we can manage what is gonna happen,
no matter if is unpleasant, we are familiar with it.
Breaking through that "comfort zone "'
requires the prior ability to point out the patterns we constantly repeat
and how it would make us feel to change them.
If we are always involved in toxic relationships with partners,
we need to accept that we are looking for that relationship
in order to feel safe but knowing it won't make us happy;
now think and visualize the type of person you wanna be with and spend time with,
how it makes you feel and what benefits are you getting from that experience:
happiness, freedom, independence, self -esteem?
And allow it to be in your life, feeling in your skin the vibrations of the new situation,
now that you know that new pattern is gonna make you feel good,
happy and safe, you will incorporate it and substitute the old one.
